Project manager in the pilot project, SMS Up, end-to-end in Kuala Lumpur

Hi I’m Vidya! My background is in Project Management and through Urban Refugees, I have had the opportunity to create the SMS Up application alongside our Developer, Duncan Walker, and we will deliver it to CBOs in Kuala Lumpur as part of this pilot project. SMS Up will enable refugees to chat in groups within their community, similar to WhatsApp/ Viber, but using SMS. It will be funded and thereby free to user. It is being developed for the benefit of refugees without smart phones or an internet connection on their hand phones.

We’ve accomplished so much, but the growing urgency of refugee issues in cities means we have a lot more to do and we can’t do it alone. Support the refugee communities that need it most.
